Mission
Welcome to New York Italians!
New York Italians is a social network of Italians, Italian Americans and Italophiles residing in the New York City area promoting Italian Culture, Heritage, Events, Language and Food. We are a friendly and enthusiastic group of people who share a love for the Italian language, its culture and its people. We pledge to create a REAL, Face-to-Face community to preserve Italian Heritage and develop opportunities for our members.
New York Italians mission includes:
- Encouraging the study of Italian language and culture in America.
- Preserving Italian and Italian American traditions, culture, and history.
- Promoting closer cultural relations between the United States and Italy through travel, social events, and food tasting and cultural exchanges.
Community Service
New York Italians is pursuing to facilitate a positive impact in the community via various partnerships. Currently, we have initiated a relationship with the American Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) and National Organization of Italian American Women (NOIAW). One of New York Italians immediate goals is to have a mobile mammography day with AICF, date to be announced. Additionally, New York Italians is presently working in a community service capacity and as a cultural resource with NOIAW. Additionally, as a part of the Italian American ONE VOICE coalition, we plan to work with other Italian and Italian- American organizations to renounce the defamation of our community. We are collaborating with these organizations to support and promote the Italian and Italian-American community.
Events and Culture
New York Italians is dedicated to promoting Italian culture as well as sponsoring social and cultural events. Our first cinematic cultural event will be the viewing of Mal'occhio, which has been set for April 29. We have an exciting program of events from book presentations, to cultural lectures, from regional food and wine tastings to social dinners. Our members enjoy a series of cultural, educational and social events during the year, designed to both learn more about Italian culture while enjoying each other's company.
